Clients who already know they need you
easyonlinetax helps UK online sellers work out where they stand with HMRC. When a seller's check shows they need an accountant and they ask to speak to one, we introduce them to a partner firm.
You pay only when they sign with you: £75 for a sole trader, £150 for a limited company. No fee per enquiry, no subscription, no minimum.
Who the sellers are
People selling on Shopify, Etsy, eBay, Amazon, Vinted and Depop, from side hustles to established stores. They usually come to us because something has changed:
- Their platform has started reporting their sales to HMRC, and they're not sure what that means.
- They've gone over the £1,000 trading allowance and need to register for Self Assessment.
- They're getting close to the £90,000 VAT threshold on a rolling 12-month basis.
- They're coming into Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, from April 2026, 2027 or 2028.
What our checks do
We run two free checks, plus plain-English guides that explain the rules and link to GOV.UK.
- Tax position check (seven questions): whether the seller is likely to be trading, whether they need to register, and whether Making Tax Digital applies.
- VAT threshold check: the seller's rolling 12-month taxable turnover against £90,000, from their own Shopify figures, including reverse-charged fees billed from abroad.
We explain the rules. We don't give tax advice, and we don't file anything. That's your job, and the reason we refer.
What a referred client arrives with
Only sellers who choose to be introduced are passed on. With their consent, you get an email like this one, so your first call starts from the facts, not from "what do you sell?"

- In their own words
- "Sales have grown a lot this year and the check says I'm close. I sell candles and home fragrance, mostly through Shopify. Do I need to register now, and what happens to my prices? My first Self Assessment is also due in January."

How it works
- A seller asks to speak to an accountant at the end of a check.
- We email you the introduction within 1 hour of the seller's request (8:00 to 20:00 UK time), so you reach them while it's fresh.
- You contact the seller within one working day.
- You tell us when they sign your engagement letter.
- We invoice the fee, payable within 30 days.
If the seller doesn't become a client, there's nothing to pay.

- You get back to introduced sellers within one working day.
- You let us know when an introduced seller signs, or if they don't.
- You tell us which clients you want: sole traders, limited companies, VAT, Making Tax Digital, or anywhere in the UK.
Common questions
How many introductions will we get?
easyonlinetax is new, and we'd rather tell you that than promise volumes. You pay nothing until a client signs, so the only cost of joining is answering the introductions you get.
Do you keep sellers' data?
The checks store nothing. They run in the seller's browser, and their figures aren't sent to us. The only details we receive are the ones a seller types into the introduction form, and we pass them only to the firm we introduce them to.
Can we choose which clients we get?
Yes. Tell us the client types and areas you want, and we'll only send matching introductions.
Is the referral fee allowed under our professional rules?
Most bodies allow referral fees as long as the client is told about them. We tell every seller before introducing them, and it's on the form they agree to. Please check your own body's rules.
Who runs easyonlinetax?
easyonlinetax is run by TENFEET LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (no. 09894030), 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX.
